Pretty much savored the last few days of summer by heading to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. My family is from D.R. and I had yet to visit Punta Cana, one of the most visited tourists locations in the country. And oh boy, was it worth the trip. The Hard Rock was immensely beautiful, and a resort that requires two bus routes for the location alone shows how huge (and worthy!) the place is. I was only there for a weekend, but this trip was a necessity for me personally.
Not to be a “Debbie downer,” but I’ve felt pretty upset these past few weeks over personal reasons. This last minute trip with my family demonstrated to me how things are temporary. Pain is temporary. Friends are temporary (the bad ones at least). Life itself is temporary. I have a favorite quote that goes as follows: “the problem with people is that they’re only human.” I’m glad that now more than I ever, I’m realizing that anger and pain is not a cause for a pity party. And if you were in the shits like me, just plan a trip with friends and/or family! Could be a day or three weeks, doesn’t matter! It helps. So does a journal, reading a book, or some in cases, writing a blog.
